Who We Are
Genevieve Coulombe
A former International and World Junior Pairs Competitor for Canada, Genevieve trained in Montreal under renowned Canadian Olympic and World coaches. She was the Novice Pairs Gold Medalist in 1993 and 1994 as well as a National Competitor in Novice Ladies. Later in her competitive career, she competed in the pairs event at the Junior World Championships in Budapest and finished 4th at Canadian Nationals in Junior Pairs. She is also the 1994 Athlete of the Year for Quebec Province.
Genevieve has been coaching for over 22 years in both Canada and the US. She was the Director of the Sports/Study Program in Levis, Quebec from 2007-2009. She has coached numerous elite skaters at the Regional, Sectional, National and International levels in the US and Canada, including the 2015 Intermediate Ladies US Champion.
Genevieve is an expert in spin technique and skater performance and works closely with her athletes to prepare them for success in competition.
Konstantin Kostin
Konstantin is a two-time Latvian National Champion, five-time World Figure Skating Championships competitor and 1992 Olympian with over 20 years of coaching experience. He was the World Junior Championships Silver Medalist and a three-time European Figure Skating Championships competitor. He was the first man to land a quad at the European Championships. He was also a Senior and Junior Grand Prix Series competitor and was named USSR “Master of Sports”. He holds a BA in Psychology, specializing in child psychology and education from the Moscow Sociological Institute.
Konstantin is also an ISU Technical Specialist and most notably served on the technical panels for the 2018
Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, the 2016 World Figure Skating Championships, as well as numerous other European Championships, Grand Prix and Junior Grand Prix events. Konstantin is widely recognized as an expert in jump technique and overall technical skating skills for athletes of all ages and abilities.
As an elite coach, Konstantin has coached and choreographed for highly competitive skaters throughout the United States. His skaters include numerous medalists at the Regional, Sectional, National and International levels.
Dmitri Kazarlyga
Dmitri is a 2-time Olympic (1994 and 1998) and 6-time World Championship competitor. Trained in Kazakhstan and at the Lake Placid Olympic Center by renowned coach Natalia Dubova, Dmitri is a highly decorated ice dance competitor whose accomplishments include being a 6-time Kazakhstan Champion, 4-time Asian Championships Champion, a bronze medalist at Skate America and the gold medalist at the 1996 Asian Winter Games. Dmitri studied at the Kazakhstan National Sport and Physical Education Academy.
In his coaching career, Dmitri has developed successful ice dance teams that have competed nationally and internationally. His athletes have competed at the World Championships, European Championships, Grand Prix events and US and Canadian Nationals. He has also coached multiple competitors at the regional and sectional levels.
Dmitri is a moves in the field and skating skills specialist and focuses on developing quality edge work and turns with his athletes. He is a talented choreographer who works with athletes on their program development as well.
Karen Lehmann
Karen has over 18 years coaching experience, working with skaters at all levels, including National medalists. She is a PSA Certified Rated Freestyle Coach and holds a PSA Level III Ranking. Karen has a unique and extensive background in both figure skating and in speed skating. She is an Olympic Bronze Medalist in Short Track Speed Skating, as well as a 2-time World Championship Bronze Medalist. With 9 years of elite-level training at US Olympic Training Centers across the country, Karen has an extensive knowledge of the requirements of training well-rounded competitive skaters.
Karen also holds a Master’s Degree in Education and has been a teacher in secondary education for almost 25 years. She has mastered teaching students with all types of learning styles and she provides the differentiated instruction necessary to help each student reach their maximum potential.
Karen coaches freestyle, skating skills, off-ice strength and conditioning, and is experienced in using the on-ice pole harness, as well as the off-ice electric spinner/harness for jump training.
Sheryl Franks
Sheryl is a 1980 Olympic Pairs competitor and a four-time World Championships competitor. She was also a principal skater with Disney on Ice. Sheryl has choreographed countless original programs for skaters, several of whom have won national medals. On the ice, Sheryl focuses on program choreography and polish for our athletes. She excels at designing programs that showcase the skater’s skills, style, and personality and she works closely with our skaters to understand their strengths and preferences.
